Square Sail Sun Shades

September 30th, 2010 by hotel_linens

We purchased two of these and a triangle to provide sun protection for an outside even with over 50 people. They are very well made (strong seams) and the hardware provided with them is first quality stainless steel. We are very happy with them.

Wind Power Tip

September 29th, 2010 by hotel_linens

I was very happy with this book. It contains all the information you would need to learn to build your own wind turbine generator and is put together in a very easy to read and understand format. The authors are entertaining and the information is accurate. There is a great chapter on sources and other materials for a person that wants to make their home more efficient or go off the grid.

Chefs Anti Fatigue Mat

September 27th, 2010 by hotel_linens

I feel that anyone looking to spend the requisite $200 or so on a comfort mat is placing it inside your home. Here is where the problem lies. Although the mat itself is well constructed and designed, WellnessMats decided to put its very noticeable (about 7″ x 3″) name deeply stamped in the upper right corner. If you have a nice kitchen or bathroom you may want to pass as it cheapens the look of a well thought out or pricey design. Unless you are buying Gucci or Louie (and even then) who wants to brand for a company in your home? If the mat is going into a laundry room or garage, its a winner, but buying a commercial mat is half the price of this product.

Honest Wind Generator Review

September 25th, 2010 by hotel_linens

I have one of these and the reason I purchased it was after finding all the additional details helped me decide and I love it. It is great having free electricity. All my neighbours think it is great but someone did call the town and they said I need a permit. We will see.

Kitchen Mats Article

September 21st, 2010 by hotel_linens

I have a 3′ and a 6′ mat, both the basket weave pattern which was the only one available when we purchased them at a local store.

Yes these mats are very comfortable and I love how they feel, but the weave pattern started to separate after a year.

And the edges all curled up.

Because of the splits in the mat, by year 2, water must have seeped in when hand washing them and now there is mold all over the bottom of the mats, transferring itself to the tile floor.

But I like these mats and will look for a different pattern, maybe one that does not have openings that will split open like the basket weave.

The warranty is very short and the problems will appear after the warranty is expired. Even within the warranty period, you have to pay shipping both ways. Terrible policy.

Addendum: I was contacted by a representative of the company who expressed concern for my problem with the mats. I told her that I never contacted the company because the short, imo, one year warranty period was over. And I was not about to pay shipping costs to return these heavy mats to you. I also told her that we have replaced them with Imprint by Sublime Anti Fatigue Comfort Mat, Nantucket Series which are as soft, much lighter to lift, cost less and have a 7 year warranty.

She did explain that they have found the cause of the edges curling up but had not experienced the splitting along the lines of the basket weave pattern. She wanted me to return the mats so they could be inspected.

I was sent prepaid shipping boxes to return the mats and my money was refunded (less sales tax). Since these mats were well out of their warranty period, I consider this to be excellent customer service.

Wind and Solar Power Review

September 20th, 2010 by hotel_linens

This product is a nice color and size for the price. The quality of the plastic seems a little cheap so you wouldn’t want it to get too banged around but it works well and has both the wind up and solar feature which makes it nice to keep handy in case of an emergency. We get power outages during storms so it is perfect for that and has a decent radio.

Chefs Anti Fatigue Mat

September 19th, 2010 by hotel_linens

This product is very cushy on your feet — but it is raised and I am afraid it may be a tripping hazard perhaps when walking by… I will try it in my kitchen and see if it is… Very durable and like I said, cushy on the feet!
