Heated Throws

January 15th, 2010 by hotel_linens

Heated blankets and throws are perfect for keeping warm on cold days and nights.

I JUST RECEIVED THIS BLANKET. IT IS WARM AND COMFY AND CAME JUST IN TIME FOR A SHORT SPELL OF COLD WEATHER HERE IN FLORIDA. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BLANKET TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TAKE THE CHILL OFF.

I sent to a coworker as a gift, and she loved it. She said it was so nice that I am going to buy one for myself!

We actually received this item as a Christmas gift first, and then traded it in for the Ivy color (see review on the ivy item). Both are excellent items, and we would have kept this one except for the color. However, what I loved about it was that it actually worked really, really well. There are three heat settings, plus it turns off after 3 hours so you don’t have to worry about burning yourself or getting overly sweaty throughout the night. We actually DID save money on our power bill last winter (January was almost $40 lower than December!). It was pretty amazing.

Bought this throw as a gift, I own a similar one. Thought I was getting a deal, but when it arrived the Throw Blanket does NOT have the Auto-OFF feature. The Product Description was completely misleading. The one with Auto Off is the costlier blanket. Still warm, but I am disappointed, as that was a feature I particularly wanted.

I had this on my amazon wishlist for Christmas, and intended to get a couple more as gifts. The one I received is blue, and it’s almost the perfect size. A little longer by about 6 inches and it’d be absolutely perfect. I’m 5’3 and it covers from my waist down and around my toes(my feet are usually ice cubes, so I try my best to keep them warm!). It’s also easy to share for two across your laps.

It’s fleece, so it does seem to attract cat hair and fuzz balls. Though I will also say, your cat will become your BFF, they really love the warmth. On that particular front, I ordered my Mom the sunbeam micro plush one in mushroom color, all the same except for the fabric/color. The texture and feel of that one is a little nicer then this fleece, but at the time I wishlisted it, the fleece was 30 and the micro plush was 50 — I found the micro plush on super sale at walmart just around christmas for 30. So that was just by chance that we had the ability to compare and see the true difference.

The dial I was concerned about because I usually have the electric blanket on our bed at 10(it goes from 1-10, 10 being the warmest) to get it really toasty, and I was thinking that out of low, medium and hi on this, that hi wouldnt be that hot. Well it is! It’s wickedly hot! I usually just put it on that to warm it up and then switch it to low. I had thought I read on some reviews for this blanket that there was an auto-off for safety..I must have read wrong beause I left this on overnight by accident and it was still on and warm the next morning, the cats seemed to enjoy it though!

Easily washed, I threw it in the machine and even dried it on “warm” — usually I let electric blankets air dry or tumble on no heat, but according to the directions on the blanket, its ok to use a warm dryer for a couple of minutes. It came out soft and super clean.

All in all, both my mom and I are overjoyed with our blankets. We’re both usually cold so it’s really the most wonderful solution. I’m cold because I like to keep heat down and conserve energy, so now I can be toasty without wasting away natural resources, so I feel a little greener as well!

I purchased this throw less than a year ago. The controls are already out and it won’t heat. The cord for the controls is awkwardly placed and difficult to change settings while using the throw.

Don’t waste your money, it won’t last and it’s poorly engineered.

I bought 2 of these. They are so soft, and they heat up fast!

I previously had a sunbeam heating blanket and it was far from soft,
and it took awhile to warm up but wasnt even very warm.

    These are excellent!

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This super soft plush throw is what my daughter wanted. It was so much softer than the one I got last year for myself. It came in plenty of time for Christmas. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Ratinoff Says:

Keep in mind that this is a throw, not a blanket, so it’s a little on the short side but does an excellent job at keeping you warm. It’s also very fast warming and the temperature seems to be accurate on any of it’s settings but I believe the connection would be better if it exited on the side rather than the middle part at the bottom portion of the blanket. The control is also placed further down on the cord taking it out of easy reach and because of this, it has a tendency to fall on the floor. However, it does a great job at keeping you warm and does so rather quickly.

Item was given as a gift nice quality but don’t know how great it wors or washes.

I have returned this item. While it was picked up two weeks ago it has (as of yesterday) not been credited to my credit card. Not a good way to lure new business online.
