Receiving Blankets
January 2nd, 2010 by hotel_linens
I should’ve paid more attention to the dimensions. I was hoping to use these blankets for swaddling but they’re too small and too thin. The fabric is a little cheap.. but hey, this is a cheap buy. I ended up using the blankets to tuck the baby’s arms underneath her, and then use something else for swaddling.

I got a free giftcard because of a transferred prescription at CVS. I used the card to purchase a Snuggie for myself and a toy for my grandson. The Snuggie was okay for just sitting in a recliner reading or watching TV. I was not prepared for the open back. I assumed it was a poncho type robe. I would not pay very much for these hyped up things but do not have buyer’s remorse. It was only $14.99 and I can always use it in the dog’s bed when I get tired of it.

I bought my Snuggie after seeing the commercials on TV. I must admit that I was a bit dissapointed when they arrived and the material was so thin, however that dissapointment ended the first time I used it. I am quite short (5′) and I am able to wrap myself in it like a cacoon, feet and all. Since I AM so short, I elect to wear it backwards and despite how thin the material is, it keeps me toasty warm. In fact, it keeps me warmer than my big bulky bath room which is four times heavyier simply because my legs and feet are completely covered. I have had to make sure to put it away when I am not using it because my dogs started fighting over who gets to lay on it when mommy isn’t using it.
I must agree, the book light is useless.

I got this for Xmas from my mother in law. I wasnt too thrilled about the leopard print, but thanked her and kissed her. I tried it on at home and this thing is a piece of crap. It doesn not keep you warm at all cause the fleece is very thin and cheap. The back is open too so its still cold. I was under the impression it was like a poncho. Anyway, she did give a gift receipt and I will be returning it.

I received a Snuggie for Christmas this year after I asked for a Slanket instead. As I knew the reputation the Snuggies have, I was very weary of having one, and it was a correct fear. The Snuggie itself is much too short, and only reaches the bottom of my feet. It rides up when sitting, to the point where every few minutes I’m pulling it down. The sleeves are too long and cannot be pulled up and over my shoulders because of the make. The part that’s supposed to stay on my back constantly falls down and it is not comfortable. The material feels like the type that would immediately ruin the Snuggie once washed, and even though I’ve not washed it yet, I have a strong feeling it will ruin it. I tried on the Snuggie “backwards” to see if it truly was a backwards robe, and it is. The only reason I received this for Christmas was because of the price, considering the fact that Slankets are generally $30-40 dollars. However I’d rather spend money on 5 Slankets than one Snuggie.
All in all, the reputation is deserved for this product.

I picked one of these up for my newphew for the holidays because he simply had to have one. Since there were no kids’ sizes at the Walgreens I went to, I bought an adult size, with the reading lamp. When I got back to the east coast, I found a kids’ size, which left me with an extra Snuggie.
The thing is not bad. The material is quite soft, and a bit thicker than airplane blankets, though nowhere near as thick as any average fleece item. The sleeves are very wide and very long (I’m almost six feet tall and the sleeves reach past my fingertips). It’s also very big and very long…if you’re petite you’ll be lost in it (which may be just the thing you want, or not). When I stand up, it has about six extra inches which could cause a trip.
As other reviewers have said, it’s open in the back and does slide down your front easily if you’re leaning forward (if you’re typing an Amazon review, for example), which is annoying, although this isn’t much of a problem if you’re wearing something under it to provide friction, or if you’re reclining on your couch. Not recommended for sitting around undressed underneath it; it’s just too slippery. But if you live in a cold climate and want to save on heating, it is a nice extra layer that you can read, play video games, or watch tv with and have your hands free.
My biggest complaint: The reading lamp that comes with it is worse than useless. It’s made of inferior plastic and snapped apart the first time I opened it. I would rather have had a set of slippers like the ones that came with the kids’ version.
I’m using it happily at the moment, though I am waiting to see how it handles being washed (I suspect it will pill). Also, it’s not leaving lint all over everything like the Brookstone version does, which is nice.
So overall it’s okay. The lamp breaking was very annoying, but the comfort of the Snuggie is nice. I’d cautiously recommend it as a soft and snuggly hospital-type robe. It can always be clipped around the back to prevent slippage (though they really should have provided a clip).

We purchased this when my first child was about 5 months old and are still using it (he is now 3 and has a little sister). We initially bought it for indoor use – my son spit up all the time and we got tired of washing blankets! This was perfect for keeping the floor clean and it was so easy to clean off! It is also incredibly portable – it folds up so easily and the detachable carrying strap is great. We have used it for countless playdates – both indoors and out – and this mat is still in excellent condition over 3 years later. It has become our staple baby gift for our friends having babies. We are sure to let them know that it is much more than a picnic blanket (although it is great for that too). We cannot say enough good things about this product!

I had hoped this would be a little more blanket-like, a weatherproof stadium blanket. However, it is too rigid to wrap up in. It actually though is great as a seat cushion. We just open the velcro flap and roll it out along the bench. We don’t unfold the entire blanket, just leave it bench width. It has several layers of thickness and keeps our bottoms warm, so payed for itself when I didn’t have to buy 4 bench warmer cushions, and is much more convenient to carry! And it’s a piece of cake to fold back up perfectly every time.
It is a really nice quality item, and I’m sure that in summer we’ll use it at the beach or on the lawn.

This blanket is big and comfortable, easy to clean, convenient to carry, is beautiful, and it just a quality product overall. It folds up nicely and stays folded with the velcro, so I just keep it in my trunk.

We go on picnics all summer and this is great! It’s soft and water repellent so any liquid spills are not absorbed and can easily be wiped off. It’s super cute and easy to store and tote along plus it’s thick enough that even if you do pick a picnic spot with sticks and rocks underneath, you won’t feel anything poke through.
It’s pretty big as far as picnic blankets go and if they were to offer a blanket a few sizes larger, I would buy it in a heartbeat. This sized blanket can comfortably seat 2 adults with picnic meals. 4 adults comfortably if there’s nothing to eat and they’re just keeping their bums dry.
It’s not a blanket that will keep you warm, so don’t expect to be able to snuggle up under it or with it – it’s a picnic blanket for sitting, eating and relaxing on. I love it and have taken it to concerts in the park, picnics, festivals, wineries – basically any place where we might want to relax outdoors and not worry about finding provided seating.
