Winter Blankets

January 17th, 2010 by hotel_linens

I’ve been through 3 different electric blankets now. This one is by far the best! The blanket is very soft, and though it has the typical wiring, there are no large lumps like with some blankets. The photo is a bit misleading.

I ordered a full size which came with one controller which is digital and has a backlight. The backlight is dim enough to not interfere with sleeping…it brightens when you hit a button. The pre-heat function is awesome and the temperature goes from just warm enough to know it’s on to “OK that’s pretty hot”! Highly recommend!

MAINTENANCE - "Limit Winter Hair"
wedding-party-supplies Winter Blankets
*ignore the black dot on my nose! i have no idea where that came from!! ;D* Ok, so I've done a ton of research on this! I do not want to body clip because that can ruin your horse's natural coat and i do not want to screw up and have him look weird for our show :) I've found that horses need to be "tricked" into thinking here is 16 hours of daylight like you would get in the summer for them to either maintain a shorter summer coat or start to shed their winter coat if that has already started to grow in. Light determines the length of the hair but warmth is what determines he thickness of the hair, so i keep different blankets on Kowboy depending on the temperature. Grooming also helps limit the amount of hair your horse has because you help get rid of extra hairs that are belowhe normal surface as well as other benefits! gotta use some elbow greese to remove the extra/non-needed hairs under a coat no matter the thickness :)

I purchased the Queen blanket based on previous reviews and am happy I did even though it seems a little spendy.

It is so soft and luxurious. The color sample for the Honey does not come close or do justice to the actual color. It is the stunning color of dark golden honey.

The dual controls are easy to see and allow for individual comfort zones. The preheat is a nice feature.I toss the blanket over the pillows to pre-warm them along with the rest of the bed.

This blanket enables us to turn the furnace temp down at night and still stay warm and cozy. We can use the electical power stored in our solar battery bank instead of burning up $$$ of propane.

This is the best electric blanket I have ever used. It heats up quickly and each number on the control really does have a distinct degree of heat. Moreover the fabric is soft and lovely to the touch. Although the cost is higher than a number of other king-size blankets, this is a case of you get what you pay for. It is well worth every penny.

This blanket is ultra soft and light! I love the many control settings- especially the dual control so I can be comfortable at the temperature I choose.

This is a third-party seller and it was a bit scary to buy from some unknown company. But I got enough East Asian junk bought from major retailers (including Amazon) so, when I needed a good gift I took a plunge.

The blanket was much better than I expected. Thick, yet soft and great to touch. Unlike some of cheaper products, you cannot see through the blanket. It is very warm and cozy.

I’ve bought 3 blankets for sofa and 2 armchairs. I’m in love with this blankets as they are very cosy and warm. I do reccomend them.
(the seller will contact you regarding the color you want, but you can also contact them yourselves.)

Got this to help one of the kids sleep on long road trips. It takes a while to warm up (it’s using a cigarette lighter circuit to heat a whole kid… Think about it) but once it’s up to temp, it works like a charm.
I don’t think this is very washable, and I haven’t tried it.
The material seems to be the usual fuzzy electric blanket material from the 70′s, and the edges are finished nicely.
    Decent value for the money.

I drive a tractor-trailer and with the new idling laws have to shut the engine down at customers locations.I have used this blanket several times and have found it warms up in minutes and keeps me warm. The 5 amp draw is very low.I wish the blanket was a bit longer and wider. The thermosat is non adjustable…. I ordered a 2nd blanket for another driver….

  9. Pine Says:

Takes awhile to heat up, same as any other heating blanket I’ve ever gotten. It doesn’t get very hot, but its a nice toasty warmth. The heater went out in my husband’s car and I got this for him to keep him from freezing on the way to work. For only [...] bucks I’d say it was worth it. I just wish it was a little bit bigger. My husband is 6’3″ and it won’t cover up his feet. oh well.

The first time I used it, I pulled out the 12-V plug when I was done with it, and I swear it gave me a shock. I felt it all the way down my arm. I hadn’t turned it off, because the button is rather hard to push in. The plug remained rather hot for a while afterward even though I had only had it in for 15 minutes.

    cons
    Can’t wash it
    Can’t adjust temperature
    difficult on/off switch
may have given me a shock when I unplugged it
takes too long to heat up
kids couldn’t feel warmth of it through coats they had on.

    pros
big enough to spread across width of minivan
long enough cord to reach the backseat from the front seat lighter.

Used the blanket in the car Christmas day for about 1.5 hours. Plugged it in New Years Eve, no longer works. Checked the fuse, ok. Checked the outlet, ok. Blanket just died. Thanks to Amazon for good return policies.
