Could this BE the ONE.. ?? It is looking like it. I am thrilled..
I have been struggling to find a comfortable pillow.. having bought unknown numbers of them that I have tried and threw out.. It has been really bad over the past month with waking with pain in shoulder, neck etc. I feel like Goldilocks trying out pillowS
.. with pillow to hard or pillow too soft… Or… PILLOW JUST RIGHT…
well I finally resorted to searching the internet and stumbled upon this pillow. Well it arrived and I tried to put it into the accompaning pillow case.. NO way… tooo tight and made the pillow way too firm.
Well pulled it out of the case and into a regular pillowcase… and VIOLA.. a perfectly manageable pillow..
Night #1 to bed at 10.. woke up at 7:30AM… HURRAY.. no pain in shoulder or neck…
Night #2 to bed at 10 woke at 7 AM… HURRAY …. no pain ….
FINALLY..I think I have found ‘ THE ONE’

I was looking for a micro-bead pillow because I heard how “light,” “airy” and “cool” it was, as opposed to traditional pillows. I’ve always slept with high-end goose down pillows (am German). However, down, as comfortable as it is, looses its “loft” after a while, and more importantly, has the tendency of getting hot, especially in the summer.
I actually purchased 5 different microbead pillow products in my “research experiment.” The Pike Street Pillow was by far the best constructed. It allows my head to nestle into it. It provides excellent neck support, and keeps its form.
BE FOREWARNED: the pillow may at first seem too high, pushing the head upward (e.g., when lying on your back). I would definitely stay away from the spandex vellour-like pillow cover that comes with it. This cover is simply TOO small, not allowing for the micro beads to expand adequately, thus, not allowing your head to “sink into” the pillow. I have found a larger, polyester, zippered pillow case that works like a charm. Then, find a slightly over-sized polished, high-count cotton (or hemp, or bamboo) pillow case to finish it off.
One final suggestion. I recently discovered that millet hulls will also work quite well. Its advantage: a natural product and it’s flame retardant. Disadvantage: it’s heavier than the micro-bead pillow, and makes a slightly louder “noise” when turning, or positioning your head. Again, don’t have the millet hulls over stuffed. They mostly come with a zippered cover, allowing you to remove excess hulls.

This is a great pillow but it takes some getting used to. I was fearful that it might be mushy but it is just firm enough. If you use the case that comes with it, it will be positively hard. Save it for later, maybe years later.
When I sleep on it I will make a “nest” for my head prior to using it. That works just right. It does not give me the flattened ear syndrome the way the foam pillows do, esp. Temperpedic.
I definitely recommend this pillow.

I have had neck issues for 4 1/2 years, and this pillow is helping immensely. My chiropractor recommended I get a microbead pillow, and this was the first I saw. Most other sites have them for $100 or more. Amazon’s price was a bargain, and my neck feels so much better after only 1 1/2 weeks of using this product.
