Internet News On Bed Bug Protect a Bed

The cover is made of a paper-towel like material that tears too easily. I bought all of Allerzip’s products – the mattress encasing, pillow and duvet covers. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions precisely and installed the encasements with the help of a pest control professional. He complimented the quality of the other encasements, and I agreed they felt sturdy. But we were both concerned about the box spring encasement. It just felt flimsy. Sure enough, despite putting padding on the bed frame and exercising extreme caution, the box spring encasement tore during installation. It’s just not sturdy enough for actual use. You’d be better off taping your $50 to your box spring with duct tape then using this encasement! The mattress encasement, on the other hand, is made of much better material. But consider using another brand for your box spring.

I purchased a Protect-A-Bed cover for my box spring and a Luna cover for my mattress. Both work well and have what seems or appears to me to be the same zipper manufacturer (not positive but I looked at both of them closely with a 8x magnified loupe) but the Luna is all together better made and more comfortable. Both do the trick for anti-bedbug lock down security but if you can afford it, go with Luna all the way. The Luna premium mattress cover has a terry cloth top cover which makes it much more comfortable. Also the rest of the fabric seems more durable than Protect-A-Bed’s. Regardless, if you are battling bed bugs these covers are mandatory and I’m so grateful they have them.

I own the Box Spring Encasement and the Mattress Cover. The Mattress Cover works great. It’s silky smooth and didn’t rip during a move. The Box Spring Encasement rips easily. After being careful not to drop or drag it during a move, I found tiny holes along the sides and seams of the cover, rendering it useless. The material is flimsy. I’m going to buy something stronger and more durable.

We bought this box spring encasement and the matching mattress encasement as a precaution just in case we should ever get bed bugs. The mattress encasement was well made and sturdy, but this box spring encasement was made of a very flimsy material. It was very difficult (actually almost impossible) to get it on the box spring without tearing it. We tore it in two or 3 places and hope the duct tape we placed over the holes will do the trick! If it would work, I would recommend using another mattress encasement on the box spring also. It would be worth the price difference.
